Why Sheet Metal Sage?
Well, the domain name was available! It also reflects what I aim to deliver, specifically experience and wisdom together. I have an encyclopedic knowledge of how sheet metal factories run, but also a strong sense of what works and what can be made to work. Sometimes innovative ideas are exactly what you need to get more out of your operation, and sometimes innovation increases cost but not value. A sheet metal sage should consider the difference!
What Experience Can I Bring to the Table?
I spent just shy of 19 years working for the TRUMPF Group as a subject matter expert on metal processing. I've worked with manufacturers from around the world and supported hundreds of factories over the course of my career. I've looked at thousands of sheet metal parts and stood on countless shop floors. I have deep hands-on knowledge of metal forming techniques, the application of automation to factory operations, how to implement 21st century production standards and workflows, how to optimize sheet metal designs for cost, how to increase value and reduce scrap and rework, how to improve operator safety, how to justify investments and calculate capacities, and a lot more.
